Eye See...Eye Learn®

Eye See…Eye Learn® is a not-for-profit program by the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) designed to detect, diagnose, and treat children with vision problems when they begin in Junior Kindergarten, so that every child can see and learn to the best of his/her ability. Each Junior Kindergarten student is encouraged to visit a Doctor of Optometry for a comprehensive eye exam, which is covered by provincial health insurance (OHIP). If the child requires eyeglasses at the time of the examination, the Eye See…Eye Learn® program will provide one free pair of glasses courtesy of participating optometrists and corporate partners Plastic Plus and Modern Optical Canada. The frames are fashionable and are made with high quality and impact resistant polycarbonate lenses. The estimated value of the glasses is over $250.

The Eye See…Eye Learn® program is available until June 30, 2020 to children born in 2015 that are in any junior kindergarten program. Beginning July 1, 2020 through to June 30, 2021, children born in 2016 will be eligible for the program.

More information can be found on the OAO website here.
